The TikTok bio is only 80 characters, which is the tightest of the major platforms.
That changes what styling is worth doing. A heavy frame can take a tenth of your space before you have said anything.
Which fields take styled text?
The nickname and the bio both accept it, and so do captions and comments. The username with the @ does not, since it stays limited to plain characters.
The nickname holds 30 characters and the bio holds 80, so short styles beat decorative ones here more than anywhere else.
Styling that does not cost you reach
- Captions carry search weight on TikTok now, so keep the words people would type in plain text.
- Small caps costs no extra characters and still changes the look, which suits an 80 character limit.
- One sparkle on each side of a nickname reads as styled without eating the bio space.
- Skip strikethrough here, because the hidden marks count against the limit twice over.
Tip: I wrapped a bio in a heavy frame and then could not fit the link line underneath it. Counting the frame first and writing the bio into what is left is a much less annoying order to do it in.

This page styles text you already have. If you are still working out the name itself, a nickname generator covers that side, and it is easier to pick the words first and style them once at the end.
