Changing a font usually means changing the app, and most apps do not let you.
Changing the characters gets you the same result from the other direction, and it works in any app because there is nothing for the app to support.
What actually changes
Your letters are replaced with lookalike characters. The text is still text, so it can be edited, selected, and copied like anything else.
Nothing about the app or the device changes, which is why the result looks the same for everyone rather than depending on what they have installed.
Changing text back to plain
- There is no undo once styled text is out in an app, so keep the plain version somewhere before you replace it.
- Retyping is usually faster than trying to convert styled text back, because the conversion is one way.
- If you are editing a bio you already styled, write the new version here in plain text first and style it once at the end.
Tip: I rewrote a bio directly in a styled field and every correction I typed came out in plain letters next to the styled ones, so the line ended up half and half. Writing the whole thing plain and styling it in one pass at the end avoids that completely.
