- A frame around a very short name can overwhelm it, so lighter brackets beat ornate wrappers under five letters.
Where a nickname is actually shown
In most apps the nickname is the display field rather than the account name, which is good news, since display fields accept styling.
Discord server nicknames, game display names, and chat app profile names all fall into that category.
Tip: I styled a four letter nickname in gothic and it was the one change that people actually commented on, because at that length every letter stays clear. The same style on my full name looked like a smudge.
