Games are the strictest place to paste styled text, and the reason is that a username there is often an account identifier rather than a label.
Once you know which of the two fields you are editing, the whole thing gets predictable.
Account name or display name?
The account name is unique, it is used for logins and friend requests, and it is nearly always restricted to plain characters.
The display name is what other players see in a lobby or a scoreboard, and that is where frames and styled letters usually go through.
Games that only have one name field are the strict ones, and those normally reject everything except plain letters and numbers.
Before you spend a rename
- Renames often cost currency or an item, so test the exact string in the field before confirming.
- Frames pass filters more often than converted alphabets, so start there.
- Count every symbol against the character limit, since games have the tightest limits of anywhere.
- Check the name at feed and scoreboard size, not just in the settings screen.
Tip: I paid for a rename in a mobile game, pasted a gothic name, and it was refused after the currency had already been spent on opening the rename. Testing the string in the field first would have cost nothing.

This page styles text you already have. If you are still working out the name itself, a nickname generator covers that side, and it is easier to pick the words first and style them once at the end.
